I have to admit, the appeal for me is the lack of grass. The restored trulli have lots of concrete patios.
Puglia is famous for its “trulli” or cone-shaped houses, but my favorite parts of the landscape are the white cities — densely packed stacks of whitewashed cottages, with ornate baroque ornamentation, carved in sandy stone.
In the distance, on the far left, you can see the Roman bridge.
After our tour of Castel del Monte, we drove back to Ostuni through the Alta Murgia National Park. Steve took these photos of the ruined masseria and arcobaleno —farm and rainbow.
