San Michele, Lucca.

San Michele, with a stunning painting of four saints by Filippino Lippi (who won my heart in Rome with his works in Santa Maria sopra Minerva).

The Duomo.

The Duomo houses a fantastic Ghirlandaio (not a great repro).

‘Pisan Style’ facade.

Carved into the wall at the entrance.

The torre of the Palazzo Guinigi.

L’anfiteatro, backfilled.
We did not do justice to Lucca with our photos.

We did not take these photos (we lifted them from Josh).
The theme of our art show was “Viaggio” (voyage), so all of the pieces are about some form of travel.
The photos below are of a fun project by Federico and Mirco of Urban Gap. They projected an animated continuous loop of train cars on a wall and set up a stand with a special keyboard and camera. We typed our names and looked into a monitor (positioning our faces inside the outline of a head). The camera started recording our facial expressions for four seconds, randomly attired us in the customary garb of a country and then added us to the train loop. As more people came to the show, more people hopped on the train – it really captured the spirit of the whole event.

Here’s Steve dressed as … a Statunitense, circa anni ‘80!
